IDAHOT 2019
LebMASH commemorated IDAHOT 2019 and joined Helem’s “Power Bonds” reception and poster exhibition celebrating gender freedom and the power of love.
Commemorating the World Health Organization’s 1990 decision to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder, LebMASH recognized the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia and called for celebrating gender freedom and the power of love. LebMASH was also invited to attend Helem’s official IDAHOT 2019 reception and poster exhibition, “Power Bonds.”
Conjoining art with advocacy, “Power Bonds” was a collaboration between Helem and 13 talented artists from Samandal Comics who created 19 original posters to celebrate IDAHOT 2019. LebMASH was represented by board members Tarek Al Kossaifi and Dr. Michel Nawfal, executive director Souad Al Challah, and Saleem Zein, who met with members of the Lebanese Coalition for LGBT Rights.
